Vice Principal, Jared Caylor

As Vice Principal at Corning Union High School, my number one priority is to create a safe environment in which students can learn and grow each day. Young people at this school have many opportunities to be involved in positive activities that will enhance their high school experiences. It is my sincere hope that involvement in these positive aspects of school will encourage students to make good decisions.
Students at this school are expected to show respect to themselves, their peers, and the adults on campus. When it becomes necessary to discipline a student, I seek to be as firm, fair and consistent as possible. The discipline step process is something I use to help myself maintain this desired consistency. Any time a student is in the office for disciplinary reasons, he/she will most likely be either placed on or advanced up the step process in some way. Each step in the process carries a more severe punishment. My hope is that students that have to be disciplined will see that their actions are generating undesirable results and that, as consequences become more severe, they will make better choices and change their behavior.
I welcome parent involvement and encourage you to contact me if you have questions or concerns regarding discipline, Associated Student Body, attendance, facilities use, or school safety.
