Guide to student responsibilities while riding school buses
Dear Parents or Guardian:
To assist students in understanding their responsibilities for proper travel to and from school, the following rules and regulations are to be observed while riding the buses of Corning Union High School District. These rules wil assure safe and proper travel to and from school and are to be observed while riding the bus and waiting at school bus stops. The following list of student actions constitute violations of the established rules and regulations:
- Using profane language or obscene gestures.
- Putting any part of your body out of the bus windows at any time.
- Any movement out of the seats while bus is in motion.
- Legs, feet and objects obstructing aisle or facing to the rear in seats.
- Any improper bus stop procedures (not lining up, rock throwing, playing in streets, any property damage at bus stops, etc.).
- Littering of nay kind.
- Transporting any live animals, reptiles, or insects on school bus.
- Eating, gum chewing, or drinking on the bus.
- Loud or boisterous conduct.
- Abusive body contact (slapping, hitting, poking, shoving, pulling hair, etc.) in or when loading or unloading bus.
- Riding bus after receiving no-ride penalty.
- Unauthorized opening, closing, or tampering of any kind with bus doors, windows, emergency exits, or other bus equipment.
- Disrespect to the bus driver.
- Give improper identification wen requested by driver.
- Failure to remain quiet at all railroad crossings.
- Fighting on the bus or at bus stop.
- Any type of damage or defacing of bus.
- Lighting of matches, cigarettes, or smoking on bus.
- Thowing objects in, out of, or at the bus.
- Failure to obey driver.
- Endangering life, or limb of another person.
- Other unauthorized or unsafe actions.
- Skateboards are not permitted.
- No glass containers of any kind.
